According to sources, the Redsox are interested in signing SS Stephen Drew. If the Redsox were to sign Drew it would most likely be short-term on a 1-year deal in order to give Jose Iglesias and Xander Bogaeres more time to develop.
Drew hit .223 last season for the Diamondbacks and Athletics and missed a lot of time due to a server ankle injury. His low offensive numbers are what kept the A's from picking up his $10M mutual option for 2013.
