Cubs, Rangers front runners for Edwin Jackson.

According to ESPN's Jim Bowden the Cubs and Rangers are the current front runners to land free-agent P Edwin Jackson.

It wad reported early in the week that the Padres had been making a hard push to sign Jackson, but would drop the chase if the price or lenght went up above 2-3 years at $12-$13M.

Jackson is view as a backup option for both clubs as they lost out on top tier pitchers Zack Greinke and Anibal Sanchez.
