The BlueJays and Mets are coming very close to reaching a deal for R.A. Dickey. As reported by Ken Rosenthal the two teams have agreed to a deal in principle and now have 72 hours until 2 pm et on Tuesday to negotiate a contact extension for Dickey.
In the deal the BlueJays will get Dickey, Josh Thole and a prospect for Travis d'Arnaud, John Buck, Noah Snydergaard, and a prospect going to the Mets.
With the completion of this deal, Dickey will join a well rounded group of starters in Toronto with Josh Johnson, Mark Burehle, and Brandon Morrow.
This will be the 7th time that a Cy Young winner will start the next season with another team, and the 4th to be traded. He will be the 1st since the BlueJays sent Rogers Clemens to the Yankees.
