The final weeks of the MLB season might just be some of the craziest few weeks in sports. Add in a extra wild card and the postseason races becomes even more epic.
4 of the 5 National League spots have already been filled and the Cardinals having a 3 game lead over the Dodgers for the 2nd WC spot, it looks the NL puzzle is just about solved. But the AL race is one that's just too close to call. Buts lets try are best to break it down.
1st we begin with Texas Rangers and the AL West. Texas currently hold a 4 game lead over Oakland, I'm not saying its over but its looked all year that the Rangers will win the West and we can basically crown them West champs.
Next up the AL Central. With the Tigers recently regaining a 2 game lead over Chicago and the White Sox in a badly timed slump losing 3 in a row and 8 of 10 overall, I don't believe the Tigers won't win the Central they have too good of a team to not win this division.
That brings us to the AL East. The Yankees in Toronto and Orioles home vs Boston, these 2 last place teams have a good chance to ruin someones season this weekend. But either way I have both teams playing in October. I don't think this division will be decided until the final pitch is thrown. But when it's over I have the Yankees on top and the Orioles in as a wild card team.
Speaking of that pesky wild card race, the Orioles at 1 and Athletics at 2 only have a 2 game lead over the Rays and Angles who could both easily make their way in as well.
The Rays and Orioles will show down in Tampa to finish the season starting Monday in a 3 game series that could and most likely will decide a wild card winner.
Just remember it's not over til it's over. And don't blink, You might just miss another great seasons ending.
