Spring Training report, New York Yankees.

The New York Yankees, are one of the winningest franchises in sports history. Mostly known in the baseball world, for using their large payroll, to acquire the biggest and best talent in the game.

But over recent year, they Yankees have shied away from using their money, in a effort to reduce payroll by 2014, and its keep the bombers from winning it all.

This past offseason, the Yankees did very little to pursue the games top stars. Insted, they took the road of resigning many of their own players, to 1-year deals. Including Pettitte, Kuroda, Rivera, and Ichiro.

The players that the Yankees didn't resign, all left New York, in efforts to make more money else where. Swisher, Soriano, Martin, Chavez, and Ibaniez, all left the Bronx.

On the bright side, the Yankees didn't just sign their own players, bringing in former Redsox third baseman Kevin Youkilis, DH Travis Hafner, and OF Brennan Boesh.

The lineup thought, for the most part, will look extremely different, than it did a year ago. The Bombers lost 80 HR's of the total they hit in 2012, with the guys that left.

They lost even more for the injuries they suffered this spring in Granderson, and Teixaria, both out until at least May. Not to mention Derek Jeter will start the season on the DL and no one knows when A-Rods coming back. It's going to be a rough road early, in the very competitive AL East.

Pitching wise, Sabathia and Kuroda will have to lead the way, with Pettitte following behind. All is unknown when Phil Hughes will return to action. But when he does return, he's going to have to perform well, to back up the offense that isn't going to score many runs.

So when you take away Grandy, Tex, Jeter, A-Rod, your looking at a lineup, that might struggle badly at times. The Yankees are going to have to rely heavily on Robinson Cano, to put up monster numbers.

You'll see a lineup, that's going to have to do the little things to win. Hit the ball, field the ball, and pitchers, throw strikes and compete.

These aren't your fathers Yankees. Their the new Yankees. So what's different? You'll have to watch and find out.
