Spring Training report, Kansas City Royals.

In my honest opinion, the Kansas City Royals may just be one of the best young rising teams in Major League Baseball.

With a lot of young talented players here and on the way, I actually believe that the Royals can be a playoff contender by 2015.

Don't let the record fool ya, the Royals are slowly becoming a talented baseball team with the players of Billy Butler, Eric Hosmer, Alex Gordon, Mike Moustakas and many more. With the young players Kansas City has, they might even be ready to compete by next season!

A team that wasn't ready to compete was the Royals of 2012. What held the Royals down last season was mostly just the pitching.

During the offseason, the front office staff made it a goal of theirs to improve the pitching. I think they did a very good job of doing so. Being able to sign Jeremy Guthrie to a 3-year deal, and then trade for Ervin Santana from the Angles, and then Rays ace James Sheilds and solid veteran Wade Davis. Both from Tampa in exchange for only baseball's top hitting prospect Wil Myers.

Speaking of hitting, the Royals offense last season didn't really sore a whole lot of runs, yet still ranked 4th in the American League in batting average (.265). The offense was led in part by Billy Butler and his .313 avg, and this year the Royals sure do hope Hosmer can show his true star power this season.

Say what you will to this, but is it crazy to predict that the Kansas City Royals will have brought their nice ballpark to the playoffs and maybe even the World Series by 2015? I don't think it is.
