Don't move Chapman.

As the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". That's where we stand when we talk about the Reds wanting to move Aroldis Chapman out of the bullpen and into the rotation.

Last season, Chapman man was lights out in the closer role. Throwing to an astonishing 1.51 ERA, and striking out 122 battered in only 71 2/3 innings.

Now with the idea that the Reds might possibly remove Chapmans power arm from the bullpen is just unbearable to even think of.

You can't simply just take an all-star closer in Chapman and move him to a starter, especially an arm like Chapman. Remember when the Yankees tried and failed to turn Joba Chamberlin into a starter. Joba belongs in the bullpen, and so does Chapman.

I'm just not fully sure that Chapman can handle the physical and even mental changes it takes to make that move.

Chapman has shown in the past that when he gets in trouble, the wheels start to fall off and he tends to lose it. If he were to get in trouble early in a game, he might not be able to make past the 3rd or 4th inning.

Cincinnati's rotation is already very talented. Johnny Cueto really broke through last season as one of the top pitchers in the league. Mat Latos since coming over from the Padres has pitched well, he's a very good #2 for Cincy and even a #1 on a lot of other team. Then Homer Bailey and Bronson Arroyo are 2 solid pitchers even at the back of the rotation.

The bullpen on the other hand was in my opinion the best in baseball last season. While the average Major League bullpen held a 3.77 ERA; the Reds bullpen put up a very good 2.65 overall ERA.

Cincinnati's bullpen could be just as good this season with Johnathan Broxton, Sean Marshall and hopefully Aroldis Chapman.

The Reds offense is going to score a lot of runs this year. The rotation is going to be very solid. And the bullpen will be lights out. As long as nothing changes.

Dear Cincinnati Reds organization, please don't remove one of the best closers in baseball from his position. Don't take what you have for granite. So on behalf of the city of Cincinnati, your fans, and fans of baseball. Please don't touch Chapman.
