As reported last night the Redsox had interest in SS Stephen Drew and this morning it was announced the two sides have reached an agreement on a 1-year, $9.5M deal with $500,000 in incentives.
Drew will be coming to Boston mostly just to help give the Redsox short stop prospects Jose Iglesais and Xander Bogaerts more time to develop.
Stephen Drew hit .223 last season after missing 137 games from an ankle injury, and was traded from Arizona to Oakland at the trade deadline. His $10M mutual option was declined this winter by the A's making him free-agent.
