Redsox close to acquiring Joel Hanrahan.

According to reports by Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston, the Redsox are closing in on a deal to acquire Pirates closer Joel Hanrahan. Sources say "There's still work to be done", and its not known what the Pirates would get in return but Edes said Pittsburgh wants a "Significant return".

Hanrahan posted up a 2.37 ERA in 59 2/3 innings last season for the Pirates. With 1-year left on his current contract, Hanrahan will become a free-agent after 2013.
