According to sources the Texas Rangers are planning to met with free-agent catcher AJ Pierzynski. Ken Rosenthal also said on Twitter that the Rangers had done a backround check on Pierzynski.
The 35 year-old Pierzynski had a very productive year at the plate hitting .278 with 27 HR in 137 games for the White Sox. It was also Pierzynski's 12th straight year at over 100 games played.
At the moment Giovani Soto is currently the projected starting catcher for Texas along with Eli Whiteside who was claimed off waivers to add depth on the bench.
